I>Télé and Goom launch digital radio

Canal+ DTT news channel I>Télé has officially launched with partner Goom radio its own digital ad-financed radio station.

Targeting the 15-25 demo, who are not much attracted by news on TV, I>Télé la Radio is edited by digital radio bouquet Goom Radio and can be listened to on both internet and mobile devices.

Most content comes from the TV service but are reformatted and also specifically produced for the audio service. Listeners can also find dedicated on-demand news contents as well as musical programming coming from Goom's web radios.

Once personalized, it can be exported to social communities such as Facebook or Twitter.

"Our radio [service] will be the first step in the development of our web strategy," explained I>Télé GM Pierre Fraidenraich, adding that the programming budget is €2m a year.

I>Télé la Radio, whose revenues will be shared with Goom Radio, plans to break even within three years.
