The RTL radio station held onto its Number 1 spot in terms of its cumulated audience in France for the period September-October 2009 according to latest Médiamétrie's survey.
With 11.8 % of cumulated audience, RTL was ahead of PSB France Inter (10.2%, equal to last year) and music station NRJ (10%, down 0.4 % over one year). However, RTL audience has fallen 0.3% compared to April-June 2009 and 0.4% compared to the same period of 2008.
In terms of audience share, RTL Group's audience is placed at 12%, and tops France Inter (9.7%) and Lagardère's Europe 1 (8.6% up 0.5% over one year).
Over one year, full-programming stations saw their audience share rise 0.5% at 42.1%.
With 80.2% of cumulated audience, the radio media attracted an average of 42 million listeners each day of the week in September and October, which is a 1.5 pt decrease compared to Fall 2008. Though the media is stable on people aged 50-59 years, it has lost listeners among young adults under 25 and women under 50.
