Presenting the 2010 media budget for his Ministry of Culture, French Minister Frédéric Mitterrand said it was too early to plan the reduction or suspension of th new private TV tax, planned to compensate for the public service broadcasting advertising ban.
Though he admitted private networks’ revenues have been on the down slope during the first half of 2009, he added it was more relevant to wait for their complete 2009 results before making a choice.
The reduction or suspension of this tax is a request formulated by several French right-wing deputies.
