Malaysia’s DTH platform Astro has won the Annual CASBAA Chairman’s Award for “consistently growing revenue in a challenging market”.
The company was praised for taking a leadership role over many years by Marcel Fenez, chairman of the Cable & Satellite Broadcasting Association of Asia (CASBAA).
Rohana Rozhan, CEO of Astra, said: “We are delighted with CASBAA’s recognition of ASTRO’s excellent performance in the Asia Pacific’s pay-TV market.
“In view of the challenging economic environment, ASTRO has been conscientious in providing value to its customers by reinvesting in our broadcast and customer service infrastructure, as well as increasing our content spend in local content and the localisation of foreign content.”
