ProSiebenSat.1 re-signs with Media Broadcast

media_broadcastGerman television group ProSiebenSat.1 will continue to distribute its channels on digital terrestrial frequencies (DTT) using Media Broadcast’s transmitter network. The contract has been extended by five years until 2014, the technical service provider announced in Bonn.

ProSiebenSat.1 transmits its channels Sat.1, ProSieben, kabel eins, N24 and 9Live in large cities and towns via antenna. The Munich-based company reaches more than 20 million households through Media Broadcast’s DTT network which in this case comprises 27 locations.

Altogether more than 90% of German residents can receive digital terrestrial television. In densely populated areas up to 30 channels including commercial broadcasters can be received, while the line-up in rural regions usually consists of 12 channels offered by public broadcasters ARD and ZDF.
