Al Jazeera has become the latest broadcaster to make its content available to Apple iPhone users, via a downloadable English-language application.

AJE Live, available from the iTunes store, offers a live feed of Al Jazeera English, either via 3G or wireless fixed access (WiFi), the latter of which offers much higher quality. The service can be accessed from both a user’s iPhone or iPod Touch.

Users pay a one-off fee and can then access the live channel for at least six months after purchase, accessible as often and as long as the user wants subject to network availability.

Other broadcasters already offering iPhone feeds of their channels include Sky News and France 24.

AJE Live was developed with Livestation, which also hosts Al Jazeera on the Livestation online service.

Thanks for covering the story. Just a note to point out the Sky News is not available live on the iPhone while BBC World News is.
