CASBAA to look at India, China

casbaa_roomThe Cable & Satellite Broadcasting Association of Asia (CASBAA) has unveiled the first details of this year’s talk-fest, due to be held in Hong Kong in November. Major markets India and China will provide an in-depth focus.

Themed “Extending Your Reach”, speakers include founder of India’s UTV Software Communications Ronnie Screwvala; David Haslingden, CEO of Fox International Channels and Nat Geo Channels Worldwide; CEO of Australia’s Foxtel, Kim Williams; Mark Hollinger, COO of Discovery Communications; and Tomoyuki Moriizumi, president and CEO of Jupiter Telecommunications in Japan.

The three-day event will include panels on the impact of new technologies on media consumption; co-operation between content providers and pay-TV operators to maximize their revenues; pay-TV opportunities in developing markets and the next consumer digital experience.

The Casbaa Convention 2009 will be held November 3-6 in Hong Kong.
