France Télévisions launches Euromed-News

France Télévisions is leading the Euromed-News project, a consortium involving six South Mediterranean pubcasters (EPTV in Algeria, JRTV in Jordania, LJB in Lybia, ORTAS in Syria, SNRT in Morocco, Téléliban in Lebanon) as well as three international organisms, including the EBU.

The project, which is financed by the EC, aims at producing, exchanging and broadcasting 300 news reports, 40 magazines of 13 minutes and 9 half-hour docs illustrating the relationships and the cooperation between the EC and its Mediterranean neighbours. 17 hours will then be produced between March 2009 and February 2010 by the six public networks.
