Spain's government has allocated an extra €8.25 million to the DTT transition projects ending next June. The cash will go towards the extension of digital coverage to existing analogue coverage levels.
This year Spain's Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Commerce will allocate €75 million to DTT transition in the framework of the 'Plan Avanza2'.
The Ministry has signed with 18 autonomous regions and cities agreements for the development of the National Transition Plan to DTT with the goal to guarantee the full transition to DTT before April 3 2010 when digital switch-over takes place.
The different plans will be carried out in every autonomous region and city and will include the extension of digital coverage to analogue levels; increasing consumers’ connectivity; information at the local level about the different switch offs; and the elaboration of a Contingency Plan in order to give answer to the problems that can appear in the process of the switch.
