Just in case the kids aren’t already TV-mad enough, Australian digital pay-tv platform Foxtel is helping them get straight to what they want, with its new Foxtel Mini Mote remote control (left).
Mini Mote lets kids simply press one of eight channel buttons to go
straight to that channel – in this case either Animal Planet,
Boomerang, Cartoon Network, Disney Channel, Playhouse Disney,
Nickelodeon, Nick Jnr or recently-launched ad-free BBC service Cbeebies.
The remote can also be used to turn the set-top on or off, change or
mute volume and scroll through channels up or down. Two additional Star
and Moon buttons allow parents to programmes additional channels on to
the remote.
Foxtel is now selling the Mini Mote via Foxtel kiosks in shopping centres, a snip at A$29 – batteries included, of course.
