Deutsche Telekom managed to win 413,000 new households for its IPTV platform Entertain in 2012.

The total customer number rose by 27% from 1.55 million at the end of 2011 to 1.97 million at the end of 2012, Germany's national telco revealed in its annual financial report 2012 published today.

From the total customer base, 299.000 households have opted for the hybrid satellite/ADSL offering Entertain via Sat which Telekom launched in September 2011.

The figures show that Entertain continues to grow despite the loss of the football Bundesliga rights. However, Telekom didn't succeed in reaching its goal of exceeding the two million subscriber mark by the end of 2012.

Austria's national telco A1 Telekom Austria also published its annual report 2012 today: IPTV platform A1 TV managed to increase its subscriber number from 199,000 at the end of 2011 to 219,000 at the end of 2012.
