BBC Worldwide is bringing Walking with Dinosaurs into the digital age with the global launch of WalkingwithDinosaurs.com, a website for dinosaur fans.

The launch forms the first phase of the brand's relaunch in 2013 as Walking with Dinosaurs gears up for a major motion picture release Walking with Dinosurs 3D in December 2013. The website is joined by new Walking with Dinosaurs social pages on Facebook and Twitter, two upcoming iOS apps and a Sony Wonderbook game for the PlayStation 3.

Walking with Dinosaurs 3D, a co-production between BBC Earth, Evergreen Films and Reliance Entertainment, is set to launch globally in cinemas on 20 December 2013. Audiences will join dinosaur characters on an adventure that will take them back 70 million years to see our world as it was when dinosaurs roamed the earth. The film uses the 3D expertise of Cameron l Pace Group and will be distributed by 20th Century Fox in the US and the majority of international territories.

“Walking with Dinosaurs brings science and entertainment together to create a potent mix of fun, fear and fact,” said Amanda Hill, chief brands officer, BBC Worldwide.

“With the relaunch of this iconic brand we’re setting out to captivate audiences, bringing the thrill of discovery to movie screens, live events and online with the launch of our new website, the ultimate celebration of these incredible creatures and our fascination with them.”

Robert Nashak, EVP digital entertainment & games, BBC Worldwide added: “We are bringing fans a new Walking with Dinosaurs digital experience with an all new website, upcoming apps and a Sony Wonderbook game for PS3. Each digital component will give consumers an immersive, 360 degree perspective of these amazing and awesome creatures. There is nothing else like it out there for dinosaur fans.”
