Indian media group Sun Network has appointed Global Media Management and World Media Connect to respectively manage and grow its TV distribution agreements and advertising revenues in North America, according to reports.

Following the appointment, Global Media Management will market Sun TV across direct to home (DTH), cable TV and IPTV platforms over closed communication networks in North America, to bolster subscribers for the Indian station.

 

“This is a strategic move for us to further expand into global markets for our offerings. This initiative is focused on better monetisation of our content, both from the subscriber and the advertising revenue end,” says Ajay Vidyasagar, COO, Sun TV.

“It also gives us a means to leverage our successful television brands to a larger and international audience while maintaining a consistent and distinguished quality of service to the end consumer.”

Sun TV’s 20 channels reach around 95 million households in India, with its Sun Direct DTH service now registering about 6.4 million subscribers. The media group’s broadcast network is available in 27 countries around the globe, including the USA, Canada, Singapore, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, South Africa and many in Europe.
