Sky_Sport_HdGerman pay-TV operator Sky Deutschland will launch its new HDTV channels on August 13. With Sky Sport HD 2, Sky Cinema Hits HD and Sky Action HD, subscribers will then be able to receive a total of 10 high-definition channels.

 

At the same time, Sky Sport HD will be renamed Sky Sport HD 1.

Sky Sport HD 2 will focus on live sports coverage including games from the Champions League, Premier League, German ice-hockey league and PGA golf tournaments.

Sky Cinema Hits HD will screen movies and US series. In August, the line-up will include all four “Indiana Jones” films, “Hellboy 2 - The Golden Army” and “Hancock” as well as the latest seasons of  “Nip/Tuck” and “24”.

Sky Action HD will offers movies from the genres of action, science-fiction and horror, in August for example “Quantum of Solace”, “The Untouchables” and “The Day the Earth Stood Still”.

Sky HD can be booked as an additional package starting at €5 per month. The price and number of HD channels available to HD customers is based on the individual packages selected by the subscriber and on the reception technology (satellite or cable).
